Dear All - Happy Easter!
I hope you are least enjoying the incredible weather - can you imagine how much more awful this situation would be in drizzling rain!!
Let's all be GRATEFUL for small mercies!
This is what has been achieved in the past 5 (yes FIVE) Days!:
FUNDING:
You have raised over £3800 to be used for fabric to make surgical gowns for our local GP surgeries - Smashing the £1000 target - Truly Amazing - Thank you all x
SEWERS & PATTERN CUTTERS:
Over 80 of you have volunteered to be our Sewing Fairies - helping cut and sew hundreds of gowns - and 35 of you are currently busy doing just that.
Here's Janice receiving her Fabric & Instructions:
DISTRIBUTERS:
We've had over 20 offers to be our Distribution Fairies and the first set of fabrics have already been delivered.
Here is Lesley dropping off to one of the Sewing Fairies:
ADMIN & SOCIAL MEDIA:
I am very grateful to those of you who have helped me personally this week, especially Georgie who has created the pattern, Jane for her help & support with SM, Lynne who helped sort the packages, Denise who has helped with sorting the distribution process & Jacki who is helping me to get my head straight with an online sign-up form - I was getting in to a bit of a pickle with all the offers of help to sew and I was sinking under a sea of emails and text messages. More on how to sign up later...
In the meantime, I wish you all a very Happy Easter, eat as many Hot Cross Buns and Chocolate Eggs as you like as the calories don't count over this weekend - honest!!
Lots of love Jo xx
PS - cant wait for us all to be back to normal - whatever that is!
So What Happens Now....
I will be placing a BIG fabric order on Tuesday, that will hopefully arrive Wednesday or Thursday next week, and will give me time to sort and write out the delivery details.
This Fabric will be collected from the shop & delivered to the Pattern Cutting Fairies (PCF) by the Distributers. They will then collect once cut and deliver to the Sewing Fairies (SF). They will then collect and deliver to the Drop-Off centre.
We hope that everyone who wants to participate does have an opportunity to do so. We do have more SF's than PCF's which causes a bit of a problem. Many SF's are desperate to start - but are unable to pattern cut themselves - so they have to wait unfortunately, until the patterns have been cut by our PCF - I appreciate this is frustrating for many of you.
Funding:
We have now raised nearly £3800 - enough for over 1000 gowns - so as long as the need is there we will keep making gowns. I am also hoping to donate some scrubs fabric for a local GP surgery - if I can find something suitable as this is currently in short supply.
We are still able to collect donations on our Go Fund Me page

Wednesday 15th April at 3pm, I will be live on our Facebook Page again so make yourself a cuppa, grab a biscuit and watch as I chat about whatever is on my mind.
We had over 65 people watching last week and some great comments too you don't need to have a Facebook account to watch.
On a final note I cannot wait to send you a Newsletter that is full of all our fabulous new fabrics and workshops to tempt you in to the shop.
We are lucky to have Social Media and the Internet to keep us all connected and I truly hope it wont be too long until we are back together again
Thank you all so much for your lovely messages - you're just the BEST Lots of Love Jo xx
