SUMMARY:Patchwork & Quilting Masterclass Course  (15th\, 22nd\, 29th July)
DESCRIPTION:This 3 session workshop is perfect for anyone who has made a quilt or 2 and now wishes to perfect their patchwork & quilting skills. \nWith a focus on precision cutting & stitching\, and how to achieve perfect blocks time after time\, including how to nest the seams\, pressing techniques\, achieving perfect points and corners and ultimately achieving the desired block sizes. \nOver 3 weekly sessions\, our tutor Gilly will help & support you in improving your patchwork techniques and to rid you of the frustrations you may be experiencing! \nWhat you will learn: \n\nUsing the ruler\, cutter & mat to perfect your cutting skills\nPrecision piecing to master that 1/4”\nPressing & nesting seam techniques\nTrimming back & sizing techniques\nQuilting techniques\nCreating  blocks with increased complexity\n\n  \nYou will need a selection of fat quarters of your choosing  (approx 6). \nWe have a lovely selection of plain & patterned fabrics and you will receive 10% workshop discount on all fabrics purchased. \nWadding & practice fabrics are included. \nIf a session is missed\, sadly there is no catch up time\, but we will do our best to provide you with any missed info. \n  \nNew Shop Location – 55 Station Road \nParking info: \nWe have a short stay parking space to the rear of our  shop\, accessed via Lyndum Close\, perfect for dropping off or picking up\, please only  park in our space which is identified as such. SUMMARY:Trousers - Pattern Cutting -18th July
DESCRIPTION:This is a perfect class for keen dressmakers wanting to extend their pattern cutting knowledge who may have also already attended our Copy That Garment class. \nIn this workshop you will learn the basics of Pattern Cutting\, using only your own measurements to create your own unique pattern for a loose fitting pair of trousers or shorts (with pockets!) and then make them up! (Please note you may not completely finish your trousers – but will leave with the knowledge to do so). \nAn understanding of how patterns work is an essential part of dressmaking skills and ultimately  helping you to create a good fit. Our wonderful tutor Clare is a qualified pattern cutter and has years of experience in designing & making clothes and also being very much a part of our tutor team\, always ready to share her huge knowledge & skills with you. \nDuring the class there will be LOTS of knowledge shared along with skills on ‘How To’ theoretically change the pattern to a more ‘fitted’ trouser version. \nAs you will be taking very specific measurements during the class you will be unable to make the pattern for someone else on the day\, however the skills you will learn will enable you to do this in your own time should you wish to. \nYou must be experienced in sewing from a clothing pattern\, this class is not suitable for beginners. \nYou will need: (all available on the day if preferred) \nFabric to make up your pattern – approx 2.5mx 1.5m wide or 3m x 1.1m wide (trousers) 1.5m (shorts) \nElastic – 1m soft \nPattern paper – included \n  \nPlease feel free to bring your own sewing box and/or machine – but we have everything available in the studio should you like to use ours. \nParking info: \nWe have a short stay parking space to the rear of our  shop\, accessed via Lyndum Close\, perfect for dropping off or picking up\, please only  park in our space which is identified as such.
