DESCRIPTION:Perfect for a confident beginner. \nLearn skills such as using a paper pattern\, importance of measuring\, cutting stretch fabric\, use of stretch stitches\, topstitching\, adding sleeves and a hood\, hemming etc. \nWe will be using New Look Pattern 6529 in this class\, which also has a lovely leggings pattern too for you to try at home or in another of our workshops. If you already have this pattern choose ‘Class without pattern’ option. \nThe pattern is sized up to a UK 18/20 however our tutor is able to adjust this should you need it a little more generous. \nThe class includes tuition and use of our sewing machines & overlockers (or bring your own if you prefer). \nYou will need up to 2.5 metres of knit fabric (use either a sweatshirt weight or for a more lighter top use jersey) and we always have a nice selection of which a 10% workshop discount will apply. \n

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a relaxing weekend of sewing with other like minded sew-cial creatives. \nBring any projects\, dressmaking\, quilting\, machine embroidery\, homemaking and our tutors are on hand for when you need help and advice. \nWe have a beautiful dedicated workshop space at the Solent Hotel and Spa in Whitely\, Hampshire and you can choose to stay one or two nights. \nThe price of £370 includes one night accommodation in a signature room\, all your meals\, tea\, coffee etc for the duration of your stay. There is a reduction of £50 each if you and a friend are sharing a room too! There are also options for a 2 night stay. \nOur tutors are around through the day but you are free to sew whenever you like and if you’d prefer to go for a swim or visit the spa\, then do so\, it is very much YOUR weekend. \nWe have our own dining room too and  look forward to pre-dinner (and after dinner)  drinks at the bar and social time with like minded people. \nPlease contact us if you have any questions. \nMore Details… \n\nAccommodation & food for one night is included\, optional early bird Saturday breakfast.\n9am arrival on the Saturday\, 4pm finish on the Sunday.\nOptional Friday night stay\nRefreshments throughout the day\, bar drinks extra\nAssistance from our tutors throughout both days.\nThe workshop is ours for the duration and you can sew at any time including early morning or after dinner. DESCRIPTION:This class is perfect for anyone wishing to take their first steps in to patchwork & quilting skills by making a fabulous log cabin block that will be made in to a cushion cover (approx 16″ – 18″)\, or you may prefer to create more blocks to make into a quilt. Using pre-cut fabric strips you will learn the following: \n\nPrecision piecing using a 1/4” foot for guidance\nUnderstanding colour\nCreate an envelope backing\n\nYou may use one of our lovely Janome workshop machines or bring your own machine if preferred (in which case\, preferably\,  you will need a 1/4” foot) \nYou will need: 10 Fabric strips (2” wide) in various colour ways – which you can choose and we will cut these for you on the day. \nThe strips can be with contrasting colours/designs – but they don’t  have to be\, the log cabin design works well with all colours and it is important that you make it your own! \nCalico for the cushion back is included or you may choose to quilt it in which case the wadding is included but you may not complete the cushion.         \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Shirring is a magical technique that shrinks a piece of fabric and transforms it into something stretchy. \nIn this class you will set up the machine\, cut the fabric to the correct size\, create a narrow topstitched hem & straps and learn all the techniques required to create you own shirred top or dress with tie straps for yourself or a child. \nIf you are planning to make a dress for a child or someone else\, please bring their chest/full bust measurement. \nThis class is not for the complete beginner\, you will need to know how to use a sewing machine and be able to sew straight lines! \nGingham fabric is perfect for this task as the lines are already there for you\, but any cotton or cotton blend fabric with suit\, if in doubt just ask!. \nYou will need between 50cm and 1.5m depending on whether you are making a child dress or adult top or dress. Working with your current skills\, keeping it very simple if you are a confident beginner or extending your knowledge if you are an experienced sewer. \nNot for the complete beginner\, you must know how to use a sewing machine and have made some simple items. \nThe price includes the pattern and tuition\, there is an additional charge for postage if you are not able to collect\, please select in the ticket options (this is a flat rate of £2\, so feel free to add fabric\, thread\, needles and anything else you need!). \nYou will need 1.1m of fabric\, matching thread and a microtex (sharps or purple tip) needle for your sewing machine. \nWe have a lovely selection of suitable fabrics too of which you will receive 10% discount  – take a look here \nWe will contact you to give you the zoom class login details prior to the class \n \n  \n
