DESCRIPTION:Join Jo for these 4 sessions to gain lots of skills and techniques in patchwork and quilting. \nYou will learn how to use templates and foundation paper piecing along with gaining skills in accurate measuring & cutting. \nYou will also start to create a personal quilt learning about colour\, harmony\, co-ordinates and values. You will receive full colour patterns and instructions to enable you to continue to work at home. \nThis is a ‘start in the middle’ Quit design which works outwards and can therefore be as big as you’d like it to be\, once you have gained the initial skills. \nThis class is scheduled over 4 week sessions where our tutor will support you during the class and ensure you have the skills & tools to carry on working at home until the next session. \nThe dates for this Masterclass is: 23rd feb\, 1st March\, 15th March\, 22nd March (please ensure you can attend all 4 sessions as no reduction can be made for non-attendance) \nYou will need: \n\na variety of cotton fabrics in your colour choice (although this is very much part of the course so you may prefer to wait until the sessions start before purchasing) – we offer a 10% discount  on all fabrics purchased for your workshop. DESCRIPTION:This is a perfect class for keen dressmakers wanting to extend their pattern cutting knowledge who may have also already attended our Copy That Garment class. \nIn this workshop you will learn the basics of Pattern Cutting\, using only your own measurements to create your own unique pattern for a loose fitting pair of trousers or shorts (with pockets!) and then make them up! (Please note you may not completely finish your trousers – but will leave with the knowledge to do so). \nAn understanding of how patterns work is an essential part of dressmaking skills and ultimately  helping you to create a good fit. Our wonderful tutor Clare is a qualified pattern cutter and has years of experience in designing & making clothes and also being very much a part of our tutor team\, always ready to share her huge knowledge & skills with you. \nDuring the class there will be LOTS of knowledge shared along with skills on ‘How To’ theoretically change the pattern to a more ‘fitted’ trouser version. \nAs you will be taking very specific measurements during the class you will be unable to make the pattern for someone else on the day\, however the skills you will learn will enable you to do this in your own time should you wish to. \nYou must be experienced in sewing from a clothing pattern\, this class is not suitable for beginners. \nYou will need: (all available on the day if preferred) \nFabric to make up your pattern – approx 2.5mx 1.5m wide or 3m x 1.1m wide (trousers) 1.5m (shorts) \nElastic – 1m soft \nPattern paper – included \n  \nPlease feel free to bring your own sewing box and/or machine – but we have everything available in the studio should you like to use ours. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:4 session Quilting Masterclass - 22nd Sept - 3rd Nov
DESCRIPTION:Join Jo for these 4 sessions to gain lots of skills and techniques in patchwork and quilting. \nYou will learn how to use templates for accuracy\, measurements\, cutting etc \nYou will also start to create a personal quilt learning about colour\, harmony\, co-ordinates and values. \nThis is a ‘start in the middle’ Quit design which works outwards and can therefore be as big as you’d like it to be\, once you have gained the initial skills. \nThis class is scheduled over 4 weeks (fortnightly) where our tutor will support you during the class and ensure you have the skills & tools to carry on working at home until the next session. \nThe dates for this Masterclass is: 22nd Sept\, 6th Oct\, 20th Oct\, 3rd Nov \nYou will need: \n\na variety of cotton fabrics in your colour choice (although this is very much part of the course so you may prefer to wait until the sessions start before purchasing) – we offer a 10% discount  on all fabrics purchased for your workshop. You will need approximately 8-10 x half metres in a section of colours and designs of co-ordinated fabrics.\n\nYou do not need to bring your own machine\, but if preferred\, please do so \nWe have plenty of cutting mats\, rulers\, rotary cutters etc for you to use during the class\, but please feel free to bring your own if preferred.
