We also recommend bringing a laptop or iPad if you have one.\nWe will help you learn how to get to grips with your machine including: \n\nIntroduction to your Scan N Cut\nChanging settings\nConnecting to  wifi\nAdd shapes\, duplicate and flip and rotate.\nLoading your mat & problem solving\nDifferent cutting blades\nUsing the drawing tool and Universal Pen Holder\nUsing various functions\nSaving shapes and designs\nPractice sessions\n\nThe class size is small so this will allow the tutor to work with your own level of confidence and experience. \nWe have 2 machines available to borrow for anyone who does not currently own a scan n cut machine. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join Nicola from Stonehenge Bears to make a gorgeous traditional jointed mohair bear. \nWith English glass eyes and traditional cotter pin joints your gorgeous bear will be ready to take home at the end of the day. The bear is made with traditional German mohair similar to the bears pictured and a selection of paw pad colours is available to choose from on the day. \nThe bear is sewn mostly by machine although some hand sewing is required. Sewing machines and all other tools are provided. Full instruction and guidance is given but you must be confident using a sewing machine as scant seams are sewn throughout.. \nKits are available to purchase on the day if you wish to make more bears at home. \nNumbers are limited to ensure plenty of individual guidance and support throughout the bear making process. \n\nYou are required to purchase the kits (mohair\, pattern\, stuffing etc) on the day with £35 cash to Nicola.\nThe pattern and full instructions are yours to take away\, so you can make your own memory or heirloom bears at home afterwards.

DESCRIPTION:This Jewel Box design quilt is a perfect design to learn patchwork and quilting processes in your first step into the wonderful world of quilting. We are sure you wont stop at one! \nUsing a pre-cut 5-inch charm pack\, and co-ordinating fabric you will learn 2 basic blocks – Half Square Triangles and Checkerboard\, which make up this quilt design. \nYou will piece together the blocks\, step by step and learn the importance of precise seam allowances. \nOnce pieced together\, you will then learn about adding a border to complete the quilt top. \nYou will then ‘sandwich’ the quilt using batting and backing and use simple quilting effects with the sewing machine. \nWe will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. You will leave with the basic skills of quilting\, a lovely finished quilt (measuring approx 75cm x 95cm). \nYou will need a quilt pack (approx £30)\nEnjoy choosing your fabrics prior to your class and we will cut them for you\, if you can’t get in to the shop we can discuss requirements over the phone or via email\, or feel free to use your own fabrics\, but these must be cut ready for the class. \nA pre-cut charm pack (40 x 5” squares) or choose 4 co-ordinating fabrics and we will cut to 5” squares. \n24 x 5” squares – plain background \n30cm border fabric (can be chosen on the day) \n30cm binding fabric (can be chosen on the day) \n80cm backing fabric (can be chosen on the day) \nWadding included \nA quilt pack is approx an additional £30 depending on your choice of fabrics \nPlease Note – you may use one of our lovely Janome Sewing Machines or feel free to bring your own

Add darts\, seam allowances\, markings and notches. \nDepending on the complexity of garment you are copying\, you may get a chance to cut out your pattern on to fabric \nWe suggest a skirt\, dress or top for copying\, but these should not include complex features such as pleats & collars for instance. SUMMARY:Quilt in a Day 31st January
DESCRIPTION:This 9 patch star  quilt is a perfect design to learn patchwork and quilting processes in your first step into the wonderful world of quilting. We are sure you wont stop at one! \nUsing 54 pre-cut 5-inch squares\, and a co-ordinating fabric you will learn 2 basic blocks – 9 patch and the Sawtooth Star Block\, which make up this quilt design. \nYou will piece together the blocks\, step by step and learn the importance of precise seam allowances. \nYou will then ‘sandwich’ the quilt using batting and backing and use simple quilting effects with the sewing machine. \nWe will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. You will leave with the basic skills of quilting\, a lovely finished quilt (measuring approx 80cm x 95cm). \nYou will need a quilt pack (approx £30)\nEnjoy choosing your fabrics prior to your class and we will cut them for you\, if you can’t get in to the shop we can discuss requirements over the phone or via email\, or feel free to use your own fabrics\, but these must be cut ready for the class. \nA pre-cut charm pack (40 x 5” squares) plus choose 2 more coordinating fabrics or choose 7 co-ordinating fabrics and we will cut to 54 x 5” squares. \n3 x 5” squares AND 24 x 3” squares  – plain for the star \n30cm binding fabric (can be chosen on the day) cut into 4 x 3” strips \n80cm backing fabric (can be chosen on the day) \nWadding included \nA quilt pack is approx an additional £30 depending on your choice of fabrics \nPlease Note – you may use one of our lovely Janome Sewing Machines or feel free to bring your own

DESCRIPTION:Join Nicola from Stonehenge Bears to make a gorgeous traditional jointed mohair or fabric bear. \nThe Mohair bear is made with traditional German mohair similar to the bear pictured and a selection of paw pad colours is available to choose from on the day. \nThere is plenty of choice of pre-cut fabric available on the day if you’d prefer to make a fabric bear. \nFor your information the Mohair is a natural fibre made from Angora goats. \nThe bear is sewn mostly by machine although some hand sewing is required. Sewing machines and all other tools are provided. Full instruction and guidance is given but you must be confident using a sewing machine as scant seams are sewn throughout.. \nKits are available to purchase on the day if you wish to make more bears at home. \nNumbers are limited to ensure plenty of individual guidance and support throughout the bear making process. \n\n\nYou are required to purchase the kits (mohair\, pattern\, stuffing etc) with cash to Nicola on the day:\nMohair £35\nFabric £15\nThe pattern and full instructions are yours to take away\, so you can make your own memory or heirloom bears at home afterwards.

Start off by learning how to thread your machine and adjusting tension. \nLearn about adjusting stitch length and diferential feed. \nOur tutor will guide you through a series of samples to help you master your overlocker including rolled hem & 3 and 4 thread overlocking. \nYour overlocker must be in working order \nPlease bring with you your overlocker\, thread\, power lead & foot pedal\, instruction book and tool kit (tweezers\, needle threader etc) all fabric samples etc are provided\, no need to bring anything else. \nWe have 3 overlockers that can be used on the day and will need to be reserved. \nPlease note: this is not a suitable class if you have a combined Overlock and Coverstitch machine\, please contact us for alternative suggestions \n

DESCRIPTION:This class is perfect for anyone wanting to get the most from their sewing machine and  various feet that generally come as standard for you to experiment and learn lots of new skills. \nThe feet used during this class are: \n\nButtonhole Foot\nZipper / Piping Foot\nZig Zag Foot\n\nDon’t worry of you don’t have all the feet as listed\, you will still be able to complete the project. \nIn the process of learning about the various feet you will make a beautiful lined and piped bag with internal pocket\, straps and zip. \nEverything is included in the workshop fee\, we will contact you prior to the class to give you fabric options to enable us to cut everything out ready for you to enjoy sewing straight away. \n  \nJust remember to bring your machine and any feet you have\, or let us know if you’d like to use one of our machines. \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Unlocking Overlocking  27th March - New venue
DESCRIPTION:A 2.5 hour class for you to gain knowledge on your own overlocker. Start off by learning how to thread your machine and adjusting tension. \nLearn about adjusting stitch length and diferential feed. \nOur tutor will guide you through a series of samples to help you master your overlocker including rolled hem & 3 and 4 thread overlocking. \nYour overlocker must be in working order \nPlease bring with you your overlocker\, thread\, power lead & foot pedal\, instruction book and tool kit (tweezers\, needle threader etc) all fabric samples etc are provided\, no need to bring anything else. \nWe have 3 overlockers that can be used on the day and will need to be reserved. \nPlease note: this is not a suitable class if you have a combined Overlock and Coverstitch machine\, please contact us for alternative suggestions \nNew Shop Location – 55 Station Road \nParking info: \nWe do have 2 short stay parking spaces to the rear of our new shop\, we must be mindful only to park in our spaces which will be identified as such. SUMMARY:Quilt in a Day - 1st April
DESCRIPTION:This 9 patch star  quilt is a perfect design to learn patchwork and quilting processes in your first step into the wonderful world of quilting. We are sure you wont stop at one! \nUsing 54 pre-cut 5-inch squares\, and a co-ordinating fabric you will learn 2 basic blocks – 9 patch and the Sawtooth Star Block\, which make up this quilt design. \nYou will piece together the blocks\, step by step and learn the importance of precise seam allowances. \nYou will then ‘sandwich’ the quilt using batting and backing and use simple quilting effects with the sewing machine. \nWe will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. You will leave with the basic skills of quilting\, a lovely finished quilt (measuring approx 80cm x 95cm). \nYou will need a quilt pack (approx £30)\nEnjoy choosing your fabrics prior to your class and we will cut them for you\, if you can’t get in to the shop we can discuss requirements over the phone or via email\, or feel free to use your own fabrics\, but these must be cut ready for the class. \nA pre-cut charm pack (40 x 5” squares) plus choose 2 more coordinating fabrics or choose 7 co-ordinating fabrics and we will cut to 54 x 5” squares. \n3 x 5” squares AND 24 x 3” squares  – plain for the star \n30cm binding fabric (can be chosen on the day) cut into 4 x 3” strips \n80cm backing fabric (can be chosen on the day) \nWadding included \nA quilt pack is approx an additional £30 depending on your choice of fabrics \nPlease Note – you may use one of our lovely Janome Sewing Machines or feel free to bring your own \n  \n  \nNew Shop Location – 55 Station Road \nParking info: \nWe do have 2 short stay parking spaces to the rear of our new shop\, we must be mindful only to park in our spaces which will be identified as such. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nCome along and join me and a group of like- minded stitchers and sew up the mysteries of free Machine Embroidery. \n  \nUsing a sumptuous array of threads in a variety of colours and thickness\, you will learn how to create your very own picture of stitches. \n  \nThrough demonstration and support\, students will be guided through all aspects of creating a design\, placing imagery\, incorporating a background and a fore ground into their design and how to finish and present their work to its full and deserved potential. \n  \nThe workshop is designed for the novice or the more confident stitcher who wishes to explore the numerous techniques and textures created by threads and stitch\, not to mention the delight of sewing and working with colour to create pictorial machine embroidery. \nAll you need is a willingness to release your Creativity and learn a new skill. \n  \nLinda Miller BA Hons\, has been a professional embroiderer since she graduated from Winchester school of art in 1988.  \nHer work is successfully exhibited throughout the UK\, Europe\, and the USA. \nShe has pieces held in public and private collections such as those of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Arts Council Southeast. \nHer current book entitled “Stitched Pictures” is published by Crowood Books and she has appeared on Kirsty Allsop’s television program “Kirsty’s Handmade Britain.”  \n  \nLinda regularly holds workshops and gives slide talks and lectures for Adults\, Children and Community groups; she enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for textiles and her love for Machine Embroidery. \n  \nThis is an all inclusive workshop\, fabric\, thread and bondaweb are included. There is no need to bring anything unless you’d like to! \n  \nIf you’d prefer to use your own machine\, please ensure it is in good working order\, of which you can drop the dog feed teeth or has a plate that fits over the teeth. \n\nYour sewing machine manual and accessories (oil\, screwdriver\, etc.)\nA darning foot/free motion machine embroidery foot that is compatible with your machine.\nSize 80 machine needles.\nAll bobbin spools that are compatible with your sewing machine.\n\n  \nNew Shop Location – 55 Station Road \nParking info: \nWe do have 2 short stay parking spaces to the rear of our new shop\, we must be mindful only to park in our spaces which will be identified as such.
