DESCRIPTION:This is the class for you if you have a Brother Scan N Cut machine & perhaps need to gain some new skills or at least learn the basics.\nYou will need to bring your Scan N Cut machine to the class along with power lead\, cutting mat and tools. We also recommend bringing a laptop or iPad if you have one.\nWe will help you learn how to get to grips with your machine including: \n\nIntroduction to your Scan N Cut\nChanging settings\nConnecting to  wifi (and to Stellaire machine)\nAdd shapes\, duplicate and flip and rotate.\nLoading your mat & problem solving\nDifferent cutting blades\nUsing the drawing tool and Universal Pen Holder\nUsing various functions\nSaving shapes and designs\nPractice sessions\n\nThe class size is small so this will allow the tutor to work with your own level of confidence and experience.

SUMMARY:Unlocking Overlocking 7th Feb
DESCRIPTION:A 3-hour class for you to gain knowledge on your own overlocker. Start off by learning how to thread your machine and adjusting tension. \nLearn about adjusting stitch length and diferential feed. \nOur tutor will guide you through a series of samples to help you master your overlocker including rolled hem & 3 and 4 thread overlocking. \nYour overlocker must be in working order \nPlease bring with you your overlocker\, thread\, power lead & foot pedal\, instruction book and tool kit (tweezers\, needle threader etc) all fabric samples etc are provided\, no need to bring anything else. \nWe have 3 overlockers that can be used on the day and will need to be reserved. \nPlease note: this is not a suitable class if you have a combined Overlock and Coverstitch machine\, please contact us for alternative suggestions \n

SUMMARY:Pattern Cutting intro:  Sat 3rd Feb
DESCRIPTION:This is a perfect class for keen dressmakers wanting to extend their pattern cutting knowledge who may have also already attended our Copy That Garment class. \nIn this workshop you will learn the basics of Pattern Cutting\, using only your own measurements to create your own unique pattern for a loose fitting pair of trousers or shorts (with pockets!) and then make them up! (Please note you may not completely finish your trousers – but will leave with the knowledge to do so). \nAn understanding of how patterns work is an essential part of dressmaking skills and ultimately  helping you to create a good fit. Our wonderful tutor Clare is a qualified pattern cutter and has years of experience in designing & making clothes and also being very much a part of our tutor team\, always ready to share her huge knowledge & skills with you. \nDuring the class there will be LOTS of knowledge shared along with skills on ‘How To’ theoretically change the pattern to a more ‘fitted’ trouser version. \nAs you will be taking very specific measurements during the class you will be unable to make the pattern for someone else on the day\, however the skills you will learn will enable you to do this in your own time should you wish to. \nYou must be experienced in sewing from a clothing pattern\, this class is not suitable for beginners. \nYou will need: (all available on the day if preferred) \nFabric to make up your pattern – approx 2.5mx 1.5m wide or 3m x 1.1m wide (trousers) 1.5m (shorts) \nElastic – 1m soft \nPattern paper – included \n  \nPlease feel free to bring your own sewing box and/or machine – but we have everything available in the studio should you like to use ours. \n  \n  \n
