SUMMARY:Quilt in a Day - 8th July
DESCRIPTION:This 9 patch star  quilt is a perfect design to learn patchwork and quilting processes in your first step into the wonderful world of quilting. We are sure you wont stop at one! \nUsing 54 pre-cut 5-inch squares\, and a co-ordinating fabric you will learn 2 basic blocks – 9 patch and the Sawtooth Star Block\, which make up this quilt design. \nYou will piece together the blocks\, step by step and learn the importance of precise seam allowances. \nYou will then ‘sandwich’ the quilt using batting and backing and use simple quilting effects with the sewing machine. \nWe will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. You will leave with the basic skills of quilting\, a lovely finished quilt (measuring approx 80cm x 95cm). \nYou will need a quilt pack (approx £30)\nEnjoy choosing your fabrics prior to your class and we will cut them for you\, if you can’t get in to the shop we can discuss requirements over the phone or via email\, or feel free to use your own fabrics\, but these must be cut ready for the class. \nA pre-cut charm pack (40 x 5” squares) plus choose 2 more coordinating fabrics or choose 7 co-ordinating fabrics and we will cut to 54 x 5” squares. \n3 x 5” squares AND 24 x 3” squares  – plain for the star \n30cm binding fabric (can be chosen on the day) cut into 4 x 3” strips \n80cm backing fabric (can be chosen on the day) \nWadding included \nA quilt pack is approx an additional £30 depending on your choice of fabrics \nPlease Note – you may use one of our lovely Janome Sewing Machines or feel free to bring your own \n \nNew Shop Location – 55 Station Road \nParking info: \nWe have a short stay parking space to the rear of our  shop\, accessed via Lyndum Close\, perfect for dropping off or picking up\, please only  park in our space which is identified as such. SUMMARY:Trousers - Pattern Cutting -18th July
DESCRIPTION:This is a perfect class for keen dressmakers wanting to extend their pattern cutting knowledge who may have also already attended our Copy That Garment class. \nIn this workshop you will learn the basics of Pattern Cutting\, using only your own measurements to create your own unique pattern for a loose fitting pair of trousers or shorts (with pockets!) and then make them up! (Please note you may not completely finish your trousers – but will leave with the knowledge to do so). \nAn understanding of how patterns work is an essential part of dressmaking skills and ultimately  helping you to create a good fit. Our wonderful tutor Clare is a qualified pattern cutter and has years of experience in designing & making clothes and also being very much a part of our tutor team\, always ready to share her huge knowledge & skills with you. \nDuring the class there will be LOTS of knowledge shared along with skills on ‘How To’ theoretically change the pattern to a more ‘fitted’ trouser version. \nAs you will be taking very specific measurements during the class you will be unable to make the pattern for someone else on the day\, however the skills you will learn will enable you to do this in your own time should you wish to. \nYou must be experienced in sewing from a clothing pattern\, this class is not suitable for beginners. \nYou will need: (all available on the day if preferred) \nFabric to make up your pattern – approx 2.5mx 1.5m wide or 3m x 1.1m wide (trousers) 1.5m (shorts) \nElastic – 1m soft \nPattern paper – included \n  \nPlease feel free to bring your own sewing box and/or machine – but we have everything available in the studio should you like to use ours. \nParking info: \nWe have a short stay parking space to the rear of our  shop\, accessed via Lyndum Close\, perfect for dropping off or picking up\, please only  park in our space which is identified as such. DESCRIPTION:Join Nicola from Stonehenge Crafts to make a gorgeous traditional jointed mohair bear or a fluffy flamingo or swan. \nMostly sewn by machine although some hand sewing is required. Sewing machines and all other tools are provided. Full instruction and guidance is given but you must be confident using a sewing machine as scant seams are sewn throughout.. \nKits are available to purchase on the day if you wish to make more at home. \nNumbers are limited to ensure plenty of individual guidance and support throughout the bear making process. \n\nYou are required to purchase the kits (mohair\, pattern\, stuffing etc) on the day with cash to Nicola – please note the cost depends on what you choose – Bear £35 kit\, Flamingo – £70 kit\, Swan – £70 kit. SUMMARY:Quilt in a Day - 7th August
DESCRIPTION:This 9 patch star  quilt is a perfect design to learn patchwork and quilting processes in your first step into the wonderful world of quilting. We are sure you wont stop at one! \nUsing 54 pre-cut 5-inch squares\, and a co-ordinating fabric you will learn 2 basic blocks – 9 patch and the Sawtooth Star Block\, which make up this quilt design. \nYou will piece together the blocks\, step by step and learn the importance of precise seam allowances. \nYou will then ‘sandwich’ the quilt using batting and backing and use simple quilting effects with the sewing machine. \nWe will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nCome along with  and join me and a group of like- minded stitchers and sew up the mysteries of free Machine Embroidery. \n  \nUsing a sumptuous array of threads in a variety of colours and thickness\, you will learn how to create your very own picture of stitches. \n  \nThrough demonstration and support\, students will be guided through all aspects of creating a design\, placing imagery\, incorporating a background and a fore ground into their design and how to finish and present their work to its full and deserved potential. \n  \nThe workshop is designed for the novice or the more confident stitcher who wishes to explore the numerous techniques and textures created by threads and stitch\, not to mention the delight of sewing and working with colour to create pictorial machine embroidery. \nAll you need is a willingness to release your Creativity and learn a new skill. \n  \nLinda Miller BA Hons\, has been a professional embroiderer since she graduated from Winchester school of art in 1988.  \nHer work is successfully exhibited throughout the UK\, Europe\, and the USA. \nShe has pieces held in public and private collections such as those of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Arts Council Southeast. \nHer current book entitled “Stitched Pictures” is published by Crowood Books and she has appeared on Kirsty Allsop’s television program “Kirsty’s Handmade Britain.”  \n  \nLinda regularly holds workshops and gives slide talks and lectures for Adults\, Children and Community groups; she enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for textiles and her love for Machine Embroidery. \n  \nThis is an all inclusive workshop\, fabric\, thread and bondaweb are included. DESCRIPTION:Shirring is a magical technique that shrinks a piece of fabric and transforms it into something stretchy. \nIn this class you will set up the machine\, cut the fabric to the correct size\, create a narrow topstitched hem & straps and learn all the techniques required to create you own shirred top or dress with tie straps for yourself or a child. \nIf you are planning to make a dress for a child or someone else\, please bring their chest/full bust measurement. \nThis class is not for the complete beginner\, you will need to know how to use a sewing machine and be able to sew straight lines! \nGingham fabric is perfect for this task as the lines are already there for you\, but any cotton or cotton blend fabric with suit\, if in doubt just ask!. \nYou will need between 50cm and 1.5m depending on whether you are making a child dress or adult top or dress. DESCRIPTION:Shirring is a magical technique that shrinks a piece of fabric and transforms it into something stretchy. \nIn this class you will set up the machine\, cut the fabric to the correct size\, create a narrow topstitched hem & straps and learn all the techniques required to create you own shirred top or dress with tie straps for yourself or a child. \nIf you are planning to make a dress for a child or someone else\, please bring their chest/full bust measurement. \nThis class is not for the complete beginner\, you will need to know how to use a sewing machine and be able to sew straight lines! \nGingham fabric is perfect for this task as the lines are already there for you\, but any cotton or cotton blend fabric with suit\, if in doubt just ask!. \nYou will need between 50cm and 1.5m depending on whether you are making a child dress or adult top or dress. DESCRIPTION:A 2.5 hour class for you to gain knowledge on your own overlocker. SUMMARY:Quilt in a Day - 3rd October
DESCRIPTION:This 9 patch star  quilt is a perfect design to learn patchwork and quilting processes in your first step into the wonderful world of quilting. We are sure you wont stop at one! \nUsing 54 pre-cut 5-inch squares\, and a co-ordinating fabric you will learn 2 basic blocks – 9 patch and the Sawtooth Star Block\, which make up this quilt design. \nYou will piece together the blocks\, step by step and learn the importance of precise seam allowances. \nYou will then ‘sandwich’ the quilt using batting and backing and use simple quilting effects with the sewing machine. \nWe will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nCome along with  and join me and a group of like- minded stitchers and sew up the mysteries of free Machine Embroidery. \n  \nUsing a sumptuous array of threads in a variety of colours and thickness\, you will learn how to create your very own picture of stitches. \n  \nThrough demonstration and support\, students will be guided through all aspects of creating a design\, placing imagery\, incorporating a background and a fore ground into their design and how to finish and present their work to its full and deserved potential. \n  \nThe workshop is designed for the novice or the more confident stitcher who wishes to explore the numerous techniques and textures created by threads and stitch\, not to mention the delight of sewing and working with colour to create pictorial machine embroidery. \nAll you need is a willingness to release your Creativity and learn a new skill. \n  \nLinda Miller BA Hons\, has been a professional embroiderer since she graduated from Winchester school of art in 1988.  \nHer work is successfully exhibited throughout the UK\, Europe\, and the USA. \nShe has pieces held in public and private collections such as those of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Arts Council Southeast. \nHer current book entitled “Stitched Pictures” is published by Crowood Books and she has appeared on Kirsty Allsop’s television program “Kirsty’s Handmade Britain.”  \n  \nLinda regularly holds workshops and gives slide talks and lectures for Adults\, Children and Community groups; she enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for textiles and her love for Machine Embroidery. \n  \nThis is an all inclusive workshop\, fabric\, thread and bondaweb are included. We share the rear space with many other businesses\, all with their own designated parking spaces – please do not park in these. \nNearest all the surrounding streets are Permit holders only – blue badge holders can park for as long as necessary. \nVisiting us for a full day workshop : \nPark in Swan Street car park (24 hrs) – 6 minute walk\, feel free to drop your machine etc to the rear of our shop before parking. \nThe nearest car park is Waitrose Central\, but this has a max 3 hours \nSneaky free places to park: \n200m – North Road (off Station Road\, by Bentleys Dog Groomers) – permit holder or 1 hour FREE parking \n250m – College Street (outside the Good Intent on one way system) – 3 hours FREE Parking!! \n  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nA beginners class to help you get to grips with the wonderful world of free motion embroidery. Once you have learnt how to set up your machine you will then let your creative juices flow in this fun class. You will practice a variety of techniques\, including quilting designs if required and create lots of samples to take home with you. You may bring your own machine or use one of ours. If bringing your own you will need a free machine foot (darning foot). Everything else is included   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
