SUMMARY:Quilt in a Day 31st January
DESCRIPTION:This 9 patch star  quilt is a perfect design to learn patchwork and quilting processes in your first step into the wonderful world of quilting. We are sure you wont stop at one! \nUsing 54 pre-cut 5-inch squares\, and a co-ordinating fabric you will learn 2 basic blocks – 9 patch and the Sawtooth Star Block\, which make up this quilt design. \nYou will piece together the blocks\, step by step and learn the importance of precise seam allowances. \nYou will then ‘sandwich’ the quilt using batting and backing and use simple quilting effects with the sewing machine. \nWe will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. You will leave with the basic skills of quilting\, a lovely finished quilt (measuring approx 80cm x 95cm). \nYou will need a quilt pack (approx £30)\nEnjoy choosing your fabrics prior to your class and we will cut them for you\, if you can’t get in to the shop we can discuss requirements over the phone or via email\, or feel free to use your own fabrics\, but these must be cut ready for the class. \nA pre-cut charm pack (40 x 5” squares) plus choose 2 more coordinating fabrics or choose 7 co-ordinating fabrics and we will cut to 54 x 5” squares. \n3 x 5” squares AND 24 x 3” squares  – plain for the star \n30cm binding fabric (can be chosen on the day) cut into 4 x 3” strips \n80cm backing fabric (can be chosen on the day) \nWadding included \nA quilt pack is approx an additional £30 depending on your choice of fabrics \nPlease Note – you may use one of our lovely Janome Sewing Machines or feel free to bring your own
