Using a rotary cutter to precisely cut the block shapes Piecing the fabrics together to create the block design Adding a border and create a quilt 'sandwich' and stitch together Practicing free quilting Cutting binding strips and complete the mat with binding An all inclusive workshop - everything included
Make a pair of leggings - any age, any size using just an overlocker. Not for the very beginner - you must have used an overlocker before and be able to thread it confidently. You will need a pattern, or a pair of leggings to make a pattern from and suitable stretch fabric - we can advise Please bring your own overlocker - we have a limited amount to use if you do not currently own one - please let us know if you would like to use one of ours. This is a perfect follow on class to the Unlocking Overlocking workshop.

Once you have learnt how to set up your machine for free motion embroidery you will then let your creative juices flow in this fun class.
You will practice a variety of techniques and create lots of samples to take home with you.
You may bring your own machine or use one of ours. If bringing your own you will need a free machine foot (darning foot).

Learn some lovely dressmaking skills with this workshop inspired by the Japanese Style.
You will cut out your pattern pieces, using the studio pattern provided.
Depending of your chosen fabric (we suggest a cotton lawn or denim chambrey) you will learn how to sewfrench seams, insert the fashionable neck and learn some lovely finishing detail including topstitching.
You will need approx 2 metres of fabric (not included)
Using a pre-cut 5-inch charm pack, you will piece together the squares and learn the importance of precise seam allowances in this first step to quilting. Once pieced together, you will then learn about batting and backing the quilt, then simple quilting effects using the sewing machine. We will then show you how to finish off your quilt with binding. You will leave with the basic skills of quilting, a lovely finished quilt (knees or cot).
Learn the basics of Shisha (mirror-work) embroidery which attaches small pieces of mirrors to fabric.
Join our tutor Helen as she shows you how to attach the mirror to felt with stitching.
One the mirror is attached, practice other embroidery stitches in this 'hands on' class and turn this little ethnic piece into a scissor keep or book mark or whatever takes your fancy!

Get to know how to use the sewing machine with a driving test before creating a beautiful Patchwork Cushion using a selection of pre-cut squares
Learn about sewing straight lines and the importance of seam allowances, quilt the patchwork together with fancy machine stitches & complete the cushion with an envelope cushion back.

Christmas Table Runner Make a lovely Christmas table runner which you can enjoy year after year! Using the tutors design you will learn about precise patchwork & piecing to create your table runner top. You will then learn about batting (wadding) and backing and binding the runner, along with quilting techniques. Depending on your own ability and quitting experience (or desire on quilting technique) , you may or may not completely finish the runner but you will be given instructions on how to complete. The workshop includes fabrics , wadding, plain backing and threads - bring yourself and your creativity!!
Would you like to learn how to knit? Suitable for adults and children aged from 8 years. This is a small group session and we will show you how to knit plain garter stitch and then help you with tension and consitancy. You will then take the knitting home to continue and hopefully then book a follow on session. Once your confidence grows, and during another session we will work with you to help you cast on/off and create a purl stitch. Or perhaps you already know the basics but would like a little refresher - our wonderfully patient tutor is on-hand to assist you. Once booked we will contact you regarding your yarn choice as our tutor will need to prepare the casting on for your first session (the yarn and knitting needles are extra and will cost approx £5)

Design, machine and hand stitching skills are gained in this fully inclusive class - suitable for all children aged from 8 years. Practice stitching on our workshop machines to gain confidence. Design 2 Emoji faces from felt shapes, machine stitch in place, place right sides together and stitch around the edge, leaving a gap. Fill the cushion with stuffing and hand stitch the opening.
This class is suitable for anyone who can use a sewing machine and has made a couple of simple items such as a cushion cover or bag.
You will cut your pattern pieces of stabiliser and lining fabrics.
Using a charm pack of ready cut 5" squares you will arange on to foam stabiliser and stitch together using bias binding tape, being careful to sew precisely to ensure the bag stitches together.
You will then create bag handles and a lining, create boxed corners and add a magnetic clasp.
You will need:
1 x 42 squares Charm pack
1 m Foam Stabiliser
9m of 16mm Bias Tape in co-ordinating colour
1m of co-ordinating lining fabric
1 Magnetic Clasp (included)
Learn to Sew This workshop will give you confidence to use a sewing machine and make other simple items. you may bring your own machine or use one of ours. You'll learn how to thread the machine and wind the bobbin and practice stitching. You will then measure and cut your fabric & create the cushion outer, finishing off with button holes too! Aimed at complete beginners; no prior sewing experience necessary. A 3 hour workshop with a selection of workshop fabrics included and cushion pad!.
A social knit class suitable for anyone who knows the basics of knitting (can knit and purl) but would like to try something different.
WARNING - Sock knitting is very addictive!

Come and learn how to make a needle felted penguin.
Full tuition, safety instruction and guidance will be given throughout.
We will be using needle felting needles (which are sharp) and wool roving to create a little friend

Children aged from 10 years welcome, but must be able to concentrate and have good hand/eye co-ordination.
Parents/ guardians please note - your child may prick themselves with the needle and this may bleed (they will be using a first time new needle), if you are unhappy for them to be pricked - please do not book them on to the class.

You will need to bring a project you are working on and receive machine support from our team.
